What a day! Our first meet up as a forum. There was a huge range of engines on display, including Mike Jane's rare Mamod SE4 in steam, and Ben Steel's Hobbies SE3 (boxed). We went as a forum, covering 8 tables. On this space we were just right, maybe a little cramped though.
I took my whole collection, Sandy Hunter took a very nice collection of mirror polished Bowmans, Mamod flatbases and Wilescos. Mike Jane took a lovely collection of very nice engines, including an SE4. James Kite took a nice selection of his collection, including a full 1940's brass flywheel workshop. Lewis Parkes took his brand new Mamod SP6 and gave us all a shock at how well it ran. Titan (Ian) took a portable Mamod 0 guage lay out, on which we all ran our locomotives on.
A very good day! I picked up a few bargains, like an SEL Minor for £15, Mamod SE1 flatbase brass flywheel for £20, 2 TE1's for £30 and a nut and bolt SR1 for £30.
I seriously recommend going to this event, and will be held on the 3rd of February 2008 at Abbey Pumping Station in Leicester.
I will be there with the forum, wearing the red forum shirts.
Have a look at the pictures of our stand below, courtesy of Ben Steel and Sandy Hunter, thanks.
